# Do I need contents insurance?
We strongly recommend that you arrange your own contents insurance before you move in.
Your personal belongings, including furniture, clothing, electronics and other valuables, aren't covered by the building's insurance policy.
Contents insurance can also provide cover for accidental damage to your belongings and, depending on the policy you choose, personal liability and accidental damage for which you may be responsible.
You're free to choose any insurer and arrange the level of cover that's right for your needs.
If you're unsure what type of insurance you need, we recommend speaking to an insurance provider before your tenancy begins.
